SBI warned public against the fake UPI ID

The Country’s largest lender, State bank of India has warned people against the fake UPI ID that is being circulated for collecting the covid-19 funds. The Prime minister has requested everyone to get donate some funds for the coronavirus outbreak. Now because of this, few fake UPI ID is being circulated for fraud.

The PIB fact check tweeted for the same- Beware of Fake UPI ID being circulating on the pretext of PM CARES Fund. #PIBFactcheck: The correct UPI ID of #PMCaresFunds is pmcares@sbi”.


The Delhi police tweeted-“Please note, the correct UPI ID of PM CARES Fund is pmcares@sbi Thanks to alert citizen @bishwesh0604 for getting a fake UPI ID pmcare@sbi blocked. Legal action has been initiated.”

In response to the complaint that is raised, the SBI said- Thank you for notifying us about this fraud UPI ID. We have immediately alerted our UPI team and they are on the job to block the same. We sincerely appreciate your alertness.”

The government has given few ways through which one can transfer money to the PM care funds very easily. If you are someone waiting to pay for the same, do use those methods which are certified and valid.
