Due to COVID-19, HDFC reduces their working hours

Due to the spread of coronavirus, private sector banks like ICICI and HDFC banks have asked their users to use digital means of transactions for making any transactions and they also have reduced their staff in their offices.

HDFC bank has totally changed their working hours and it will begin at 10am everyday to 2pm till 31st March excluding Saturday.


They have also suspended their passbook updates and foreign currency purchase services for a while.

The bank said- “In the interest of public health and safety, we will be withdrawing the following services temporarily of passbook updates and foreign currency purchase. For the same reason, our contact centre will also function with reduced staff. We urge you to stay safe and bank from home using iMobile/Internet Banking for all essential banking services,”

All the ICICI bank has already informed their users via SMS that our branches shall remain open with required hygiene steps and reduced staff”.

HDFC bank has also requested their users to use cheque drop boxes in order to help reducing the crowding in branches. For using the services like forex card reloading, passbook updation, users can use their digital services. Also, for making the online transactions, facilities such as UPI, IMPS, NEFT and RTGS is available.

Also, there are many platforms like UPI and PayZapp platform if users want to pay any utility bill.
