State Bank of different cities have already got merged with the State Bank of India. Still there are some which are now in the list to get merged with the leading bank State Bank of India. The State Bank of Hyderabad was also the one which was merged with the state bank of India. This merger took place two years ago.
Now, it seems like other state Banks of the telugu states are in the latest list. After Hyderabad now its turn of Adndhra pradesh where this merger will be done.
This decision of centre to merge Andhra Bank with Union Bank of India and corporation bank will be hitting the emotional link of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh people. This bank is 96 years old which is the reason people have an emotional bond with it.
This decision of merger will cut down the connection of Telangan people with Andhra Pradesh.
Analyst Telakapalli Ravi “First it was SBH and now Andhra Bank. Telugus have lost both their banks,” analyst Telakapalli Ravi told IANS. He pointed out that after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Bank continued its presence in Telangana.
“People had all the trust in the bank. It was another name for safety,” he said.
With its merger with the State Bank of India (SBI), State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) became part of the history in 2017. SBH was the identity and an integral part of the rich legacy of this historic city and one of the last remnants of the Asaf Jahi dynasty of the erstwhile Hyderabad State.
